On this day, December 10, 2010, the album “Michael” was released by the estate of Michael Jackson. It was released by Epic Records and Sony Music Entertainment, almost 18 months after Jackson’s death in June 2009. The album features previously unreleased tracks and outtakes from Jackson’s studio sessions spanning several years.

Controversy surrounded the release of “Michael” as some of Jackson’s family members and collaborators questioned the authenticity of his vocals on certain tracks.
