On this day, November 14, 1964, Joseph Ward Simmons AKA Rev Run, was born in Queens, New York. Rev Ron is an iconic rapper, producer, DJ, and actor. He is also an ordained minister hence the name “Rev” Ron.

Rev Ron is one of the founding members of the hip hop group Run–D.M.C. Members of the group also include Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels and Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell.

Run–D.M.C. achieved great success in the 1980s with hits like “It’s Tricky,” “Walk This Way” (a collaboration with Aerosmith), and “My Adidas.” They were known for their distinctive style, which often included wearing Adidas tracksuits and fedora hats.

After the tragic death of Jam Master Jay in 2002, Run–D.M.C. officially disbanded. Rev Run later became known to a new generation through his reality television series “Run’s House,” which aired from 2005 to 2009. The show followed the daily lives of Rev Run, his wife Justine Simmons, and their children.

Rev Run continues to be active in the entertainment industry and recently collaborated with BBD and dropped a hot single titled, “Act Like You Know.”
