On this day, October 7, 2017, Cardi B had the top spot on Billboard with “Bodak Yellow”. She became the first female solo rapper without a guest on the track, to achieve this since Lauryn Hill’s ‘Doo Wop” in 1998.

Cardi B, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar Cephus, is a rapper, songwriter, and actress. She was born in The Bronx, New York City and rose to fame with her debut single “Bodak Yellow”.

Before her music career took off, Cardi B gained attention through her social media presence and her role on the reality TV series “Love & Hip Hop: New York.” However, it was her musical talent and distinctive personality that catapulted her to mainstream success.

Some of Cardi B’s notable songs include “I Like It,” “Money,” “Be Careful,” “WAP” (with Megan Thee Stallion), and “Up,” among others. She has also won several awards including a Grammy.

In addition to her music career, Cardi B has appeared in films like “Hustlers” and “F9: The Fast Saga”.
