The Albany County probation department is currently in pursuit of Lamont Alexander Holmes. He’s facing failure to appear charges and tampering with court ordered GPS monitoring on a felony weapons charge.
A woman found a dog with an unusual device attached to his collar and took the dog to the veterinarian who then contacted the police. The police reached out to Albany probation office who confirmed receiving a notification that the device had been tampered with but was not able to identify the source of tampering.
Holmes pled guilty to a felony weapons charge in 2025 and was scheduled for sentencing but failed to show up for court. A warrant has been issued for Holmes arrest, and he faces up to 15 years in prison once he’s captured and sentenced.
