Gerald Levert: Today We Remember One of the Most Soulful Voices in Music

He had a big voice and the heart to match, on this day November 10, 2006, the world lost one of the most powerful voices in music Gerald Levert.

Gerald Levert had an impressive music career. His musical journey started in 1983 as part of the R&B trio LeVert, alongside his brother Sean Levert and friend Marc Gordon. The group achieved success in the late 80s and 90s with hits like “Casanova”, “Just Coolin” and “Pop, Pop, Pop, Pop Goes My Mind”.

Gerald also had a successful solo career, releasing nine solo albums. Some of his most popular songs include “Mr. Too Damn Good”, “Answering Service” and “Baby Hold On To Me”.

Gerald Levert also won numerous awards including a Grammy, NAACP Award, American Music Award and 3 Soul Train Awards.

Tragically, Gerald Levert passed away at the age of 40 from an accidental mixture of prescription drugs. He will always be remembered as one of the most talented recording artist to ever grace the stage.
