Rudolph Isley, Co-Founder of the Legendary R&B Group the Isley Brothers, Passes Away At 84

Rudolph Isley was a musician, singer, and one of the founding members of the iconic group, the Isley Brothers. Formed in Cincinnati, Ohio in the 1950s, the Isley Brothers achieved success and became one of the biggest groups in music history.

Some of their most popular songs include, “Shout”, “It’s Your Thang”, “That Lady”, Between the Sheets”, and “Harvest of the World”.

The Isley Brothers have released 31 albums and won dozens of awards including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, BET Lifetime Achievement Award, NAACP Award, Soul Train Music Award, and many more.

Over the years the Isley Brothers group has consisted of a variety of members. In 1989, Rudolph retired from music to pursue his dream of being a minister. Just three years later in 1992, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

It was reported that Rudolph Isley passed away at his home after suffering a heart attack. He was 84 years old.
