On this day, August 7, 2001, R&B recording artist, songwriter, actor, and dancer, Usher released his third album 8701. The album name is in reference to the release date.


Usher, “The King of R&B”, was born in Dallas, Texas. He rose to fame in the 1990s and has been at the top of the music game ever since.

Usher has released eight albums. which produced 52 songs on billboard.. He’s also had 18 songs in the top ten and 9 number one hits.. Some of his number one hits include, “Yeah”, “Burn”, “OMG”, “You Got It Bad”, “My Boo”, and “Love In This Club”. Usher’s track record of success has made him one of the best-selling artists of all time with over 100 million copies sold and still counting..

Apart from his music career, Usher has also ventured into acting. He has appeared in films such as “The Faculty”, “She’s All That”, and “In the Mix”. Additionally, he served as one of the coaches on the reality TV singing competition “The Voice” for two seasons.
