In the bustling atmosphere of a basketball game, I had the pleasure of sitting down with the dynamic and enterprising Aminah Sillah-Baker, also known as Mz Minah. A force to be reckoned with in the music industry, Mz Minah is a multifaceted personality with several roles under her belt. As a Fleet Illinois DJ host and moderator for Zoom calls, she has carved a niche for herself in bringing together artists from different states and cities. But that’s not all; Mz Minah’s passion for nurturing talent and helping independent artists thrive without the need for major labels is truly commendable.

Kami Grayson: Welcome, Mz Minah! Thank you for joining us today. Can you tell our readers more about your roles in the music industry?

Mz Minah: Hi, Kami! Thank you for having me here. I’m delighted to be part of this interview. So, as a Fleet Illinois DJ host, I moderate Zoom calls for artists from various places, creating a platform for networking and collaboration. Additionally, I manage artists under “Rise for Life Management,” assisting independent musicians in promoting their music globally without the constraints of signing with major labels. My mission is to help them build a buzz in their city and beyond.

Kami Grayson: That’s fantastic! It’s so important to empower independent artists in such a competitive industry. Besides your work in music, I hear you have a successful venture called “The Kush Girls.” Could you share more about that?

Mz Minah: Absolutely! “The Kush Girls” is an adult entertainment company based in Chicago. We have a fantastic team of talented and classy women, including hairstylists, security guards, and exotic dancers. We aim to provide quality services and ensure that our clients have a memorable experience. I take great pride in the brand, and we represent ourselves with style and professionalism.

Kami Grayson: That sounds like quite the empire you’ve built! How can artists and potential clients get in touch with you?

Mz Minah: It’s easy to reach out to me! My website is www.mzminahbrowndivah.com and you can find me on social media as “mzminah” (MZMINAH). You can also contact me via phone at 888-508-5664 ext 2. I welcome anyone looking to collaborate, hire our services, or support our nonprofit organization, “Next Generation Youth Privation.” We’re holding our 9th annual back-to-school event in Chicago, and we’d love to have sponsors and partners on board to give back to the community.

Kami Grayson: That’s commendable work, Mz Minah. Now, tell us about your experience at the Fleet DJ’s conference this year.

Mz Minah: Oh, the conference was incredible! Last year, I couldn’t attend due to a personal tragedy, but this year, I was blessed to be a part of it. The Fleet team did an amazing job, from the informative panels to the vibrant parties. I got to meet so many influential people, including radio personalities and artists like Goodie Mob and The Baby’s engineer. It was a perfect platform for networking, and I’m grateful for the exposure it provided.

Kami Grayson: I’m glad to hear you had a positive experience. Before we conclude, is there anything else you’d like to share or any shout-outs you’d like to make?

Mz Minah: Absolutely! I want to give a shout-out to my team, especially Megastar CEO and Loud One Music Group, and the founder of “The Kush Rooms Entertainment,” Jay Venice. They’ve been instrumental in my journey and our collective success. Also, thank you to the Fleet DJs for putting together such an amazing event.

Kami Grayson: Thank you, Mz Minah, for taking the time to speak with us. Your dedication to empowering artists and giving back to the community is truly inspiring. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors!

Mz Minah: Thank you, Kami! It’s been a pleasure. I look forward to connecting with you again soon. Take care!

And with that, our conversation with the vibrant Mz Minah comes to an end. As a Chicago networking queen, she continues to leave a lasting impact on the music industry and beyond, empowering artists and giving back to the community through her passion and hard work.
