Only six recording artist were number one on Billboard and at the box office simultaneously. They are:

PRINCE – He was the first to reach this achievement in 1984. His movie “Purple Rain”, was number one in theaters grossing over seven million dollars in the first weekend of its release. At this time, “When the Doves Cry”, was also at the top of the Billboard chart. Prince was the lone record holder of this amazing juncture for 17 years, that’s how long it took before someone else was able to repeat this milestone.

JENNIFER LOPEZ – In 2001, Lo (her second album), debut at number one on Billboard as her movie, “The Wedding Planner”, was also at the top in the box office drawing over thirteen million.

EMINEM – In 2002, hip hop drama, “8 Mile”, was doing big things in theaters bringing in over fifty million, while his first chart topping single, “Lose Yourself”, sat at number one on Billboard in the U.S. as well as in nineteen other countries.

BEYONCE – In 2006, “Queen Bey”, starred in the box office hit “The Pink Panther”, alongside Steve Martin which raked in over twenty million. Her track, “Check on It”, was sitting pretty in the top spot on Billboard and stayed there for five weeks

BAD BUNNY – In 2022, Bad Bunny’s album, “Un Verano Sin Ti”, dominated Billboard for eleven weeks. His movie “Bullet Train”, which he starred in with Brad Pitt was number one in theaters for two weeks.

HARRY SYLES – In 2022, “As It Was”, debut in the number one spot on Billboard and his movie, “Don’t Worry Darling”, was doing awesome in theaters pulling in nearly twenty million.
