The “Queen of Neo Soul” is back! After 15 years without a full-length studio release, Erykah Badu has officially announced her upcoming album “Abi & Alan,” a project produced by The Alchemist. The album will be released on her label, Control FREAQ Records, sometime this summer.

The last album Badu released was “New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh” in 2010. She also dropped a mixtape in 2015 titled “But You Caint Use My Phone,” which we all know was the last line from her chart-topping hit, “Tyrone.” Furthermore, Badu was featured on a few collab projects including “Tempted” with James Poyser and Rapsody “3AM.”

Badu recently completed a tour in Japan, which wrapped up on June 30th. Each night, she performed before sold-out crowds. Her tour will kick off here in the States on August 8, in Seattle, Washington.

No official release date for the new album has been announced. Sources close to the project describe the album as a genre-bending fusion of soul, jazz, and hip-hop. Check out the lead single from the album, “Next To You,” below.
