Suzi: The Queen of Collaboration Releases New Project, “Tied To Me”

She’s a true gem in the music industry, and her voice is as smooth as silk. Singer, songwriter, and engineer, Suzi is making a name for herself in a big way. The Fleet Mag reporter, DJ Pynk Dyamond was all ears as she sat down with the multi-talented recording artist to discuss her music video with Jim Jones, new projects, and more.

Suzi, formerly known as “Z,” is an American-Dominican recording artist currently residing in New Jersey. She’s had a lifelong passion for music and began singing at only four years old. Her musical journey began as an opera singer, and she later transitioned to R&B, pop, and Latin music. Suzi is bilingual and incorporates a mix of English and Spanish into her songs, creating a unique style that has captured the attention of music lovers of many cultures.

In 2015, Suzi released her debut single “Nobody’s Better,” a collaboration with Fetty Wap, and that was the moment her career took off. The video has been streamed nearly 100 million times, and the single opened up many doors for her and created a global fan base.

Though Suzi quickly obtained widespread success, she admits the music business does come with its challenges.

“With this business, nothing is really guaranteed. There is always something that goes not the way you expect it to. She went on to say, “Adversities that we face are only challenges to make sure we really want it.”

The collaboration opportunities continued to come to Suzi. In 2017, she linked with “Tory Lanez” and released the song “Special 4 U. “ This track boosted her popularity even more, elevating her status as a go-to artist if you want to drop a hot collab project. Though Suzi’s success skyrocketed her career to another level as an artist, she stayed humble and relished in the moment of being able to use her gift to connect with fans in a way that only music allows.

“My biggest reward in music is the feeling that knowing that people can connect with my music and that people can wake up and feel a little bit better by turning my song on. That’s like the most incredible feeling in the world.”

Suzi’s most recent collaboration, “This Sh*t Still In Harlem.” is a hip hop track with Jim Jones. The video was shot throughout the city of Harlem, AKA Black Mecca, shining the spotlight on businesses and locals enjoying the moment.

When asked if there is a recording artist that would be her dream collab, Suzi responded, R&B superstar Chris Brown,

“Chris Brown has been such a big part of my life since I was young, and watched the way he blew up. He makes the kind of music that I can relate to. I’ve listened to him throughout my entire life, and he’s incredible. He’s a megastar and an incredible performer as well. Getting on a record with Chris Brown would be monumental.”

Though Suzi has an extremely busy schedule, occasionally she takes time to relax and enjoy a great Netflix movie.

Suzi is an amazing recording artist, and her music exuberates positive vibes. Her lyrics are something many can relate to, and her vocal delivery is simply incredible.

Wrapping up the conversation, Suzi stated it’s her dream to perform in Madison Square Garden. She feels that would put everything full circle for her career-wise. She is also interested in venturing into acting in the near future. With her go-getter attitude and beautiful demeanor, the big screen is definitely in reach for this talented young lady.

Suzi is dropping a five-song EP, “Tied To Me,” on May 2, and more music will follow. 2025 is the year for this diva to dominate the music charts
