D. Saunders was raised in Chesapeake, Virginia but currently resides in Biloxi, Mississippi. As a kid he began singing in the church choir where his father was the organist. It was evident that D. Saunders possessed a rare and exceptional talent. His rich, velvety vocals and impeccable control allowed him to effortlessly convey a wide range of emotions, leaving listeners spellbound. Recognizing his gift, D. Saunders began honing his craft by learning to play multiple instruments, writing songs and exploring various musical genres to develop his unique style.
After graduating school D. Saunders decided to serve his country by joining the U.S. Air Force. While in the military fellow airman discovered his singing abilities and he was giving the opportunity to travel the world to perform for other soldiers. Some of the places he’s performed include Japan, Guam and The Philippines just to name a few.
Drawing inspiration from musical legends such as Stevie Wonder, Philippe Wynne and Sam Cooke, D. Saunders infuses his music with a timeless quality that resonates with audiences of all generations. His soulful R&B sound is marked by smooth melodies and a captivating blend of old-school charm.
