Peace to my Readers, I wouldn\u2019t be me if I didn\u2019t address this. But, it is happening at such an alarming rate that I feel someone needs to speak about it and keep speaking about it until we can evoke change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The term ‘Crashing Out’ is being used a lot now to describe what young people are doing when they are frustrated, angry, or just feeling unloved and misplaced, or maybe even forgotten. Crashing out means they are willing to do anything to get, or do, whatever they want. Even if this means taking an innocent life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was about to report on one specific situation with the young man in Queens who took the life of another young man in what was supposed to be a fun day at the park. But then I realized that wasn\u2019t the only teen death that occurred this week, and that brought me to a somber place because I said to myself this is happening all over, and thought, ” What can we do about it?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I actually have the solution to this problem, but I don\u2019t think other adults want to hear the truth. The fact of the matter is, we removed discipline from the home, after-school programs, school, and structure from the home. We allowed our children to decrease in information learned and gained, and we continue to teach things that will not benefit them later on in life. All of the things that our Grandparents and some of our parents were trying to instill in us. We have gotten away from the fundamentals of growth and development, and need to get back to it, period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I remember a time when the neighborhood looked out for the neighborhood, and the adults held every child accountable, especially if they knew your parents. We are far removed from that. However, we need to connect and meet these children where they are. They need to understand that they are not in this
alone, and there are other options if they’re willing to work hard and grind for it in the proper way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
